The core purpose of Kundalini Yoga Wellness and Health Association (KY-WHA) is to deliver customized health-oriented Kundalini Yoga programs to the health care, educational, corporate and arts communities and general public. KY-WHA was established in 2008.

Vision Statement

To become a global resource assisting individuals and organizations in acquiring the mental, physical and spiritual fitness to optimize their potential through the technology of Kundalini Yoga, working in conjunction with the health care, educational, corporate and arts communities.

Mission

KY-WHA is a non-profit organization which provides professional customized yoga programs to health care, education, corporate, cultural and public organizations. Specialized courses complement the wide spectrum of conventional treatment programs in areas including cancer, diabetes, cardiac care, mental health disorders, asthma, HIV- AIDs, women’s issues (prenatal, postnatal, breast health, menopause), geriatrics, chronic pain, addictions and stress management.

Programs

KY-WHA’s programs utilize the powerful technology of Kundalini Yoga to increase awareness of one’s spiritual nature, reduce negative patterns and habits, increase mental clarity and focus, improve problem solving skills, enhance creativity, reduce the effects of stress, enhance body-mind integration, improve breathing, balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, increase immune function, gain greater control over one’s life and experience joyful living. Programs are developed by experienced yoga teachers from the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, yogic literature and resources with the guidance of health care and/or educational specialists. Each curriculum is reviewed by Sat Dharam Kaur N.D., Dr. Gurucharan Singh Khalsa (3HO Director of Training/programs), at least three other experienced Kundalini Yoga teachers, and at least two health professionals.

Partnerships

KY-WHA creates partnerships with research bodies (institutions), health care practitioners (MDs, NDs, chiropractors, osteopaths, nutritionists, acupuncturists, massage therapists etc.), educators, spiritual communities, the corporate world and the arts community to integrate Kundalini Yoga into existing health practices and lifestyles.

Members

KY-WHA maintains a membership of certified professional yoga teachers and health professionals who are passionate about the benefits of Kundalini Yoga and its effects on individuals’ mental, physical and spiritual well-being. KY-WHA trains and supports the teachers within the membership. The high quality and standards of KY-WHA programs are maintained through quality recruiting and training of teachers and monitoring of client results and feedback. KY-WHA trains, certifies, oversees and provides job placement and support for Kundalini Yoga teachers within the association.

Efficacy

Questionnaires are designed for each program to be used, where appropriate, before, during and after administration of the program, to evaluate its success. Objective testing (i.e. blood tests, bone density tests, blood pressure, blood sugar, salivary hormones, PET scans, MRIs) and evaluation are utilized whenever possible to ascertain the validity and outcome of each program.

Outreach

KY-WHA is currently is based in Toronto and Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada and extends its outreach to the international Kundalini Yoga community by accessing working groups, curriculum developers, instructors, trainers, marketers and researchers around the world.

KY-WHA Membership Application and Renewal Form

If you are a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and are interested in becoming a member of KY-WHA, an annual renewal form and registration is due by Jan 15. You may register as a general, associate or lifetime member by filling out the online form. The membership policy is included at the end of the form.
